TNEB SLDC real-time data sharing
The MD Infotech SCADA/RTU sends your wind or solar plant's data to the Tamil Nadu SLDC and SRLDC over IEC 60870‑5‑104 — unprocessed, time-stamped and tested end to end with the SLDC.
How it works
From the plant to the Tamil Nadu SLDC, unprocessed
Grid-connected wind and solar plants have to stream real-time telemetry to the State or Regional Load Despatch Centre under the CEA connectivity standards and the Indian Electricity Grid Code. MD Infotech supplies its own SCADA/RTU, which reads the field directly and sends the values unprocessed, as the Tamil Nadu SLDC requires. We also map the signals, set up the main and standby links, and stay with the plant through end-to-end testing with the SLDC/RLDC until it is live.

Typical signal list
| Signal | IEC 104 type | Sent as |
|---|---|---|
| Active power, MW | M_ME_NC_1 · 13 | Spontaneous on deadband, plus cyclic |
| Reactive power, MVAr | M_ME_NC_1 · 13 | Spontaneous, plus cyclic |
| Bus voltage kV, frequency Hz | M_ME_NC_1 · 13 | Spontaneous, plus cyclic |
| Breaker & isolator status | M_DP_TB_1 · 31 | Spontaneous, time-tagged |
| Wind speed, irradiance, ambient temp | M_ME_NC_1 · 13 | Cyclic |
| Available capacity, units online | M_ME_NC_1 · 13 | Cyclic |
| Energy import / export, MWh | M_IT_TB_1 · 37 | Counter interrogation |
| Power set point, if the LDC issues one | C_SE_NC_1 · 50 | Command, LDC → plant |
The final point list, IOA addresses, deadbands and scaling are agreed with your SLDC/RLDC before end-to-end testing.
What the link carries, frame by frame
Tamil Nadu SLDC integration for wind and solar plants
The Tamil Nadu State Load Despatch Centre (TN SLDC), operated by TANTRANSCO, needs live data from every grid-connected wind and solar plant in the state — often still called EB SLDC data sharing from the TNEB days. MD Infotech connects plants across the state's wind belts — Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni and Kanyakumari — to the TN SLDC with the MD Infotech SCADA/RTU sending unprocessed IEC 60870‑5‑104 data, a point list in the SLDC's format and a main plus standby communication link.
Plants connected to the inter-state network share the same real-time data with the Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre (SRLDC). One SCADA/RTU can feed both the SLDC and the RLDC where the connection agreement asks for it.
Wind farm owners, solar park developers and O&M companies with a Tamil Nadu SLDC or SRLDC data-sharing requirement.
The RTU reads each controller directly, so every make and model in our fleet list can report to the SLDC, plus solar inverters of any make.
Older wind farms without telemetry can be brought onto the SLDC link without changing the OEM controller program.
SLDC-ready for every make and model
SLDC/RLDC data sharing isn't limited to a few brands. If we provide SCADA for your turbines, the MD Infotech SCADA/RTU can send their data to the SLDC as well, including older and lower-capacity models.
Signal list & IOA map
We draft the point list in the SLDC/RLDC's format and agree addresses, scaling and deadbands with them.
SCADA/RTU & dual links
An MD Infotech SCADA/RTU at each turbine, sending raw values directly to the SLDC over a main and a standby channel behind a firewall.
End-to-end testing
Point-by-point checks with the LDC control room, so every value, status and timestamp is verified on their EMS.
Go-live & link watch
Our desk monitors link health around the clock and raises an alarm the moment the LDC connection drops.
All over India
Load despatch centres across India
The same MD Infotech SCADA/RTU and IEC 60870‑5‑104 link works for wind and solar plants reporting to any State or Regional Load Despatch Centre.
FAQ
Common questions
How do wind farms in Tamil Nadu share real-time data with the Tamil Nadu SLDC?
An MD Infotech SCADA/RTU at each turbine reads the turbine controller and its meter and sends live, unprocessed MW, MVAr, voltage, frequency, status and wind data directly to the Tamil Nadu State Load Despatch Centre (operated by TANTRANSCO) over IEC 60870-5-104, on a main fibre or MPLS link with a VSAT or 4G standby.
Why does the TN SLDC need unprocessed data?
The Tamil Nadu SLDC needs plant data exactly as measured, with source timestamps. The MD Infotech SCADA/RTU sends every value unprocessed over IEC 60870-5-104.
Can you share real-time data with SRLDC?
Yes. Plants connected to the inter-state transmission system report to the Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre (SRLDC). One MD Infotech SCADA/RTU can feed both SLDC and RLDC where required.
Which turbine makes and models can share data with the SLDC?
All of them: Suzlon, Vestas, RRB, Siemens Gamesa, GE, Inox, Leitwind, Kenersys, NEG Micon, Enercon / Wind World, Senvion, Regen Powertech, Envision, Acciona, Nordex, Adani Wind, WinWinD, NEPC, Pioneer Wincon and Mitsubishi, plus solar inverters of any make.
Do you work with SLDCs outside Tamil Nadu?
Yes. The same IEC 60870-5-104 SCADA/RTU approach works with State Load Despatch Centres in Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and other states, and with the regional RLDCs.
Is TNEB SLDC the same as Tamil Nadu SLDC?
Yes. Many site teams still call it TNEB SLDC or EB SLDC. Today the Tamil Nadu SLDC is operated by TANTRANSCO, and our SCADA/RTU meets its real-time data requirements.
How long does SLDC integration take?
It depends on the plant and the SLDC test schedule. The steps are signal list approval, RTU and link installation, end-to-end point testing with the SLDC, then go-live.
